Jenna in Chennai !!

Mom! I moved to India and got a job at call center!

Jenna is exploring the Chennai ....here are some

About Chennai Traffic and driving:

Driving here is, as Naresh puts it, like Playstation3. He isn’t far off from the truth. Aside from having to dodge rogue cows, auto rickshaws and those nasty, speeding motorbikes, there is the imminent threat of a large truck coming at you face on as it tries to pass a vehicle by utilizing the lane for oncoming traffic. And the truck won’t courteously get out of the way. It’s your job as the little guy to steer over towards the edge of the road and even drive off the road if you must in order to avoid and head-on collision. Size rules here.

Entertaining insights into India ?????? :-)))

Naresh has lots of entertaining insights into India. He showed me the tiny, foil-covered hole which is on many the paper plates here and then after having me guess and fail to come up with what it was, he explained that it is where the straw is punched through on a juice box. You see, the plates are made of recycled paper juice boxes. I turned my plate over to see the design of the outside of a drink container.

Even more innovative are the plates made out of old bank statements. I am not kidding there are plates with bank accounts, balances, loans and transfers information on the back. Ummmm…is this a good idea? Naresh says it’s India’s solution to paper shredding.***Ok, now this is too funny.

Calls from the US (Is it true Jenaa ?? ..very funny )

I am about to share with you two stories that Naresh told me of phone calls from the US during his time of working as a computer customer support rep in Bangalore. Many operators got to the point where they just started having fun with it.

One time, a guy called and said, “I can’t get the arrow to the top of my computer screen and I’ve reached the end of my mouse pad.”
So the support rep says, “How large is your screen?”
The man says it is 70 inches.
And then the support rep asks “How large is your mouse pad?”
And the man answers with “About 30 inches.”
So the support rep says, “Well there you go! You need to get a 70 inch mouse pad!”

:-)))))))

Another time, a guy calls and says his cup holder is broken.

“Cup holder? Why are you calling us?” replies the support rep.
“Because it came with the computer,” replies the customer.
“Where is this cup holder, next to your computer?” asks the support rep.
“No, it’s in the computer. I push a button and it comes out of the computer.”
He was talking about the disc drive.

:-)))))))))))))))))
