Knowledge vs Intellect:அறிவாளி என்பதும் Intellect ஒன்றல்ல

தமிழில் அறிவு/அறிந்தவர்கள் என்பதை, ஆங்கிலத்தின் knowledge (knowing things)/people who knows things என்று சொல்லலாம் (Someone who is intelligent or well informed). அத்தோடு நிற்காமல் அறிவை (knowledge) பலவழிகளில் தமிழ் பிரிக்கிறது. படிப்பறிவு, பட்டறிவு, நுண்ணறிவு, படைப்பறிவு,பகுத்தறிவு ,பொது அறிவு,கள அறிவு என்று. ஒவ்வொன்றும் "அறிதல்" என்ற ஒரே தளத்தில் இருந்தாலும், தனித்துவமானவை.

சிலை வடிக்கும் கலையும், கதை எழுதும் கலையும் படைப்பு என்ற ஒரே தளத்தில் உள்ளது என்பது என் நிலைப்பாடு.கரகாட்டக் கலையில் புதிய ஒரு வித்தையை உருவாக்கினாலும் படைப்பே.

நடுநிலைமை

நீதிபதி என்பவர், நடுநிலையாக இருக்கமுடியாது. He can be true to his judgement but he cant skip his responsibility of making judgement. "இரண்டையும் கேட்டாச்சு.நான் நடுநிலைமை எடுக்கிறேன்" என்று ஒரு நீதிபதி சொல்லமுடியாது.

"நடுநிலைமை என்பது அயோக்கியத்தனம்" என்றே நான் சொல்லி வருகிறேன். சமூகத்திற்காக பயந்து, சில நேரங்களில் மனதில் எடுத்த நிலைப்பாட்டைக்கூட மறைத்துவிட்டு, அயோக்கியத்தனமான "நடுநிலையாக" வேடிக்கை பார்ப்பவர்கள் அதிகம். சமூகத்தின்மீது அக்கறை உள்ளது போல் காட்டுபவர்கள், பேசுபவர்கள், அவர்களைக் கவலையாக்கும் செயல்களில் ஒரு நிலைப்பாட்டை கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும்.

Intellect

Intellect என்பதற்கான சரியான தமிழ்ச் சொல்லைத் தேடிக்கொண்டுள்ளேன்.
மேதை = A specialist in a particular branch of knowledge.
கலைஞர் = A specialist in a particular branch of art.

அறிஞர் என்பதை ஓரளவிற்கு Intellect வுடன் தொடர்புபடுத்தலாம். ஆனால் அதிலும் சிக்கல் உள்ளது. எடுத்துக்காட்டாக‌ "தமிழறிஞர்" என்று சொல்வது, துறைசார் மேதையாகிவிடுகிறது. துறைசார் படிப்பு (learning) என்பது, அந்த துறைசார் அறிவு (knowledge.. knowing things) என்பதாகும். அதற்கும் intellect க்கும் நேரடித் தொடர்பு இல்லை.

எடுத்துக்காட்டாக,
"PhD in Bible study"  is not directly = Intellect
"PhD in Bible study"  =  Great knowledge in Bible.
அவ்வளுவுதான் அதுதாண்டி ஒன்றும் இல்லை.

Intellect என்பதற்கு "Noam Chomsky" இப்படி விளக்கம் சொல்வார்.

Intellectuals are in a position to expose the lies of governments, to analyze actions according to their causes and motives and often hidden intentions. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY of intellectuals to speak the truth and to expose lies.

Intellect = சமுதாயப் பொறுப்புணர்வு

Intellectual என்பதை என்னால் சமுதாயப் பொறுப்புணர்வு என்றே பொருள் கொள்ள முடிகிறது தமிழில். இந்த சமுதாய பொறுப்பு என்பதற்கு , பெரிய பட்டப்படிப்புகளும் , கலைகளைப் படைக்கும் திறனும் அவசியமா என்றால் இல்லை.
